Why do i cry when i watch movies/series?

Something struck me the past few days...and the revelation has been brought about by the amount of Taiwanese drama series which i have been watching lately...so why do i cry when i watch movies/ series?...it's because i'd rather not cry over my own pathetic little life...it's too painful to cry for myself...somehow it feels more detached crying over a movie/series...

And i always cry at the parts where the main actor and actress need to be apart due to certain circumstances and when they are finally together...i don't usually cry when the supporting actors or actresses are sad when the person they like don't like them...i just realized my life relates more to supporting roles...that's why i don't cry for them...coz then i'll be crying for myself...

I don't want to cry over someone who doesn't love me...that's why i've always told myself to never like someone who won't like me back...and yet, i've managed to get myself into the situation time and again...Lord, who and where is the man whom You've destined to be my soulmate? surely he can't be someone that i don't love...surely i would love him as much as he loves me...sigh, must be the pre-Valentine's blues...

  1. perhaps you're in the wrong place at the wrong time and by choice against the plans the Lord has for you?

Like a sea turtle stuck in a dusty desert, you will unlikely find contentment and fulfillment unless you're on the right road on this journey of desire.

  2. yea POTS...perhaps you're right...i may be at the wrong place at the wrong time...but which would be the right place and what would be the right time...i like your analogy about a sea turtle stuck in a dusty desert...i guess i do feel that way...like the words from a song i recently heard: it's a long, long journey, till i find my way home to You....

  3. Just to clarify, the turtle in the desert is a character in the book "The Journey of Desire" by John Eldridge.

Perhaps you might want to check it out at a local Christian book store.

I liked it cos i could relate to it.

  4. I searched on google "i cry when i watch movies" and I clicked on your link.
I think it's a release. I have stuff in my "real" life that isn't exactly the way I would like it. But I never cry about that stuff. I cry when I listen to a song, or watch a movie, or documentary. I think it's healthy.
    Keep crying.

I sometimes cry tears of joy too. I think that's the best.

    Buena suerte!

  5. thanks Mike81...i guess i'm not the only one who does that...but at the moment, i no longer have time to watch movies/ series...too busy working in a hostile environment...nowadays i cry very easily in real life...there're just too many things to cry about in my life...
