I'm off to see the Phantom, the Wicked Witch of the West and Fantine....

So i've crossed the line and entered the realm of impulsive traveller...this England trip was planned at a time when i was feeling too stressed out and i just booked the flight tickets without thinking if i would be able to take leave to go...but thank God that as i'm typing this post, i'm back home in KL and am just another 6 hours away from my flight to England....

I've also finally received my ipad 2 which i bought like 2 months ago...it's a long story and i shall not venture into it...but my new toy will be my source of entertainment as i suffer through 13 hours of airasia flight to England...

I'll be in Warwick over the weekend to visit my sister...then i'll be going to London for my musical marathon at West End....woohoo!!! I booked my tickets for the Phantom of the Opera and WIcked...which has created a rather huge hole in my bank account...hoping to get cheap tickets for Les Miserable when i get to London....then maybe that would leave me some money for yet another musical...hehe...

My sister said that a lot of shops are on sale now...i do plan to do some shopping while i'm there...retail therapy should be good for stress...hehe...i do hope i don't get a full-blown flu coz my nose is running like it is preparing for a marathon...being sick on your holiday is really a bummer...but that's not gonna stop me from enjoying my holiday...

It's good to be home...

I'm back home in KL since early Wednesday morning...took the Tuesday night bus back from KB...and honestly, i've never felt so good being back home...back when i was in KK, i'd only come home when necessary...now, even coming back home is a welcome relief from the hellhole i've been in...don't get me wrong...KB isn't a bad place to be in...but my working environment is a little too hostile for me...my work life is an analogy to Cinderella's life...day till night it's work work work...and just when i think i'm done, there's more work work work...but instead of ugly stepsisters, i have evil stepbrothers...who seem to find satisfaction in burdening others with yokes that even they found hard to bear...and while Cinderella actually made it to the royal ball, i don't even have one to attend...and there ain't no Prince Charming coming after me with my glass slipper...

So i was out for lunch and then shopping with my elder sis, niece, mom and aunt...i felt so free of burden...we had Japanese food for lunch in Pavillion...then shopped for a while at Parkson where i bought Dibo the gift dragon for Sylvia...which was kind of like a bribe to make her happy so she would follow us adults shopping without whining...plus, after that she was all friends with me when prior to that she won't even talk to me...then we went to Lot 10...shopped a little and then went back to Pavillion for Baskin Robbins...it was Pink Wednesday so we all had 2 scoops of ice-cream for the price of one...thanks to my pink-loving sis, niece and mom...ice-cream never tasted so good...didn't get anything for myself in the end...but i haven't felt this great since i started masters about 2 months ago...

I was telling my mom about my hellish life...and i told her if i failed my 1st year, i'm going to quit the bloody programme and go back to KKM and become a chronic MO...there's always my Cameron Highlands plan B...and for the 1st time in my entire life, ma actually told me i should fail my exam on purpose or just quit and come back home...ma and pa have always expected their children to get nothing less than As in their exams...really, ppl who've known me all my life know that i'm not a quitter...i've always finished (or at least try real hard to do so) what i've started...i've climbed Mt Kinabalu 4 times...and completed the via ferrata in 5 hours (ok, so that wasn't the fastest time but i wasn't the reason why we took that long)...and although i did cry while crossing that bloody hanging bridge but cross it i did...

But 2 months plus into this whole master thingy and i'm contemplating about quitting...i really don't know how much longer i can go on with this hellhole...i know i've been spoilt with wonderful bosses back in KK...and i don't expect the ppl i'm working with now to be all praises about me...but i'm already working like a dog to finish up the works that nobody wants to do and still go to OT on time (and no, i don't go to OT just to show that i am interested...i am bloody interested)...so the least these ppl can do is not make me feel like i'm a lazy ass who has no interest in the bloody programme...i mean, the way they are going, i'm sure my lawyer friends can help me sue them for mental and emotional abuse...the only reason why i'm doing plastic surgery is so that i can repair cleft lips and palates...so that i can go for missions to places in need of my service...i'm not even doing it for the so-called glamour...why does it have to be so difficult?

I'm just so tired and overwhelmed...i think i've cried so much this last 2 months that the amount of tears i've shed have surpassed that of which i've shed for all the taiwanese drama series i've watched...i really wonder if all this suffering is necessary or even worth it...maybe i should just quit and come back home and concentrate on getting myself married off...yes, i am that demoralized....Lord, if this is really what You want me to do, then please give me the strength and courage to go through the next 4 years...if not, then please give me a sign to tell me i should quit...Amen...

A bizarre dream and a new phone

I had a bizarre dream again last night while i was napping before cell meeting...initially i was dreaming about me coming back to a squeaky clean house...apparently Jasmine has cleaned the house before cell meeting...but of course that was a dream and our house was still as messy as ever...and then it moved on to another scene...if you remembered i mentioned about the guy i dreamt about whom i kissed in the lift, well, he was in my dream again (let's call him the impossible guy)...and this time, we were on a boat off an island...of course there were other ppl as well...

And suddenly i heard that my latest ex-date was coming to join us...and i got scared and dived into the sea...but since i was neither Perseus nor any of Poseidon's offspring, i couldn't stay in the water for long...as i resurfaced, my impossible guy was there reaching out his hand to pull me up...and that was the 1st time he held my hand...and i didn't let go...and he didn't let go too...and it felt good...us holding hands...and my ex-date saw us...but my impossible guy asked me what are we supposed to tell my ex-date...i was like, nothing...and then we were walking on the beach...just the 2 of us...my impossible guy and me...and i woke up hitting my hand on the forehead several times... self-bashing myself for dreaming such an impossible dream...urgh!!!

Anyway, today was shopping day...after morning round, i went to CP to hunt for a new phone...didn't take too long...i saw some nokia phones...and 5130 caught my eye...and the price was within my budget...rm320...so i just bought it...it has a 2.0 megapixel camera, an MP3 player, radio, and a big enough screen...good enough for me...then i walked around and ended up buying a strapless long dress which i actually didn't need...but since it was rm150 and it looked good on me, i felt that i had to satisfy the bargain bug in me...well, i'm sure there'll be some weddings i could wear it to...

Back home now...still trying to get a hang of my new phone...going for high tea with Becky and Connie in a while...i love weekends without calls...hehe....

Chinese Tuition Session

I was post call on Independence Day…it didn’t feel anymore sweeter than usual…my call wasn’t too bad…finished my last case at 2am plus…but didn’t sleep till about 5.30am…hehe, the net addict struck again…finally went to sleep…and a houseman woke me up at 6.30am to post an appendicectomy…I asked the HO, what time was patient admitted…the reply was.. “1am, but my boss asked to post the case at 6.30am…” Bloody hell!! so I called the case, informed the OT nurses to call me when the patient’s in OT…I slept back..and woke up again at 7.20am..only to realize that my nurse hasn’t call me…WTH??!! So I called the OT and was told the patient was not there yet…fine! I knew the surgery MOs weren’t going to do the case…they had already plan to pass over the case to the next on call MOs…the patient finally arrived at OT at 8am…breakfast for the next GA MO on call…not my fault…I didn’t purposely delay the case…

And I’m off to get Elaine from the cafeteria…she came from Kudat early morning…but no one was home to let her in..so she waited for me at the hospital so that we could go home together..came home, collapsed till about 10.30am…didn’t want to get up but hey, we’ve got plans today…so dragged my stoned body off the bed and bathed...feeling much more refreshed, Elaine and I went to 1 Borneo..i let her drove…coz I was too lazy..hehe…

Had a quick lunch at McDs…then the shopping began…didn’t buy much stuffs…just followed Elaine around while she checked out some accessories at the new Parkson…I wanted to buy new bed sheets but didn’t find one that I fancied…Elaine went for eyebrow trimming while I watched in fascination the skillful hands of the lady who managed to tame Elaine’s bushy eyebrow…the result: definitely a better looking Elaine…that’s not all…Elaine also went to the Clinique counter to check out their sunscreen…after some recommendation and testing by the sales assistant, Elaine bought a foundation with SPF 15 protection and a lipstick…the sales assistant tried the foundation on Elaine’s face and the result was a more radiant and even complexion without looking like being painted with a layer of Nippon Weathershield…since Elaine got RM20 vouchers from her Clinique purchase, we decided for another round of scouting to use up the vouchers…I ended up buying a pair of purple earrings to go with my outfit for the T Music Festival…

Finally left 1 Borneo about 3pm plus…went straight to K-box in town…by the time we started singing it was already 4pm…we’d lost precious time for our Chinese tuition session ;P…coz the afternoon package session was from 2-7pm…so we only had 3 hours to practice our Chinese..so the 2 ah lians launched right into their singing session…Elaine picked her songs…and then I picked mine…as usual, my songs were mostly Khalil’s songs…I practically sang all the songs that are listed under him…hehe..i think I overdosed Elaine with Khalil’s songs again…of course we also sang LeeHom’s songs…and Lee Sheng Jie’s songs..We also sang Ji De (Remember)..but it’s the A-Mei’s version lah…couldn’t even find JJ Lin’s version…by 7pm, we managed to finish our repertoire…but we cut short a lot of the songs towards the end…and didn’t manage to sing my last 2 songs..duets by JJ Lin and Jin Sa…namely Xiao Jiu Wo and Qi Dai Ai…

After our fruitful lessons, we went over to Warisan Square for dinner at Secret Recipe with Flora…while waiting for her to finished up her chest tube insertion, Elaine and I wiled away our time at CP..bought a new pair of knee-length spandex pants…for my workout sessions… finished dinner about 9pm plus…was getting quite tired by then…came home, gossiped a bit with Jasmine (hehe, Jasmine always brings back the latest gossips for me), went online for a while…then hit the sack..had morning locum from 7am to 2pm the next day..working pm shift in OT….

Shopping Saturday...

So i finally slept before the clock struck 3am..i think...put my alarm at 11am...but lazed in my bed till 12 noon before i finally dragged my butt out of bed and went downstairs to work on my elliptical trainer.. yea yea, i know..it's been a while since i last worked out...i'm turning into a blob of fat...that's why i told myself that i had to start working out again...managed to work out for 1/2 hour...boy, i'm so unfit de... i actually felt woozy halfway through my workout...maybe i was a bit hypoglycaemic...so i stopped halfway and ate some biscuits and drank some sweet drinks...felt better after that...would have loved to stretch my work out to 45 mins but i'm getting soft...sigh...

After i bathed, i decide
d that today would be shopping saturday for me...well, i had nothing else to do and staying at home was proving to be too hot on a warm day like today...so i drove to Warisan Square and started walking...i think i'm becoming agoraphobic...coz i actually felt uncomfortable being in public space...but i braved through the crowd anyhow (thank God there wasn't really much of a crowd despite it being a saturday)...bought myself a chocolate/peanut butter waffle and munched while i window-shopped...Charles & Keith was having their end of season clearance sale..and most of the shoes and bags were on 40-70% discount...saw a dinner bag that i liked a lot which cost rm69...oh well, didn't really need a dinner bag and it wasn't exactly super cheap... saw a few pair of heels that looked very nice too...but the problem with having Cinderella's feet is that most shoes are made for her stepsisters' feet...;P

So i went over to Padini C
oncept Store where i know there'll always be size 3 or 4 shoes left during sale...looked around for tops and dresses...nothing caught my fancy...i used to be a clothes person...i don't know since when i developed a fetish for shoes...and bags...so i ended up trying a few pair of shoes...most of them looked quite good but i go for comfort as well...the last pair of shoes i bought, it was quite a disaster...totally killed my feet..so in the end, i chose a white pair of heels..and i could fit into size 3...comfortably...yea, i know...i don't really have a need for a new pair of heels...but i guess i just needed the retail therapy that my che advocates...so anyway, here are some pics of my new white heels...

Updating my wardrobe...finally...

I'm call-free this weekend...yipee!!! that's quite rare to come by these days...so i rewarded myself with a facial treatment on Saturday morning...then went shopping with Sharon at 1 borneo..our mission of the day was to buy pants (yea, forget about dresses and skirts...work has made it so impractical to be wearing skirts/dresses)...so like 2 hunters in an urban jungle, we hunted for our 'practical pants'...but just like most girls, we were always distracted by other stuffs..like shoes..:)..so i ended up buying a pair of heels, which i feel is a bit too fashionable for me...well, will see when i actually get an occasion to wear my new pair of heels...

But we were a pair of determined bargain hunters..so in the end i managed to buy 3 pair of pants (which length i'll have to alter, thanks to me being vertically-challenged)...and Sharon bought 2 pair of pants and a dress..;)..btw, in case you're wondering why we're so determined to get new pants..will let you in on a secret...most of the pants i have are about half a decade old...and they're quite worn-out...

After sending Sharon home, i went to meet up with Adrian, a long-time friend from Sibu who came to Sabah a few days for business...haven't met the guy since the first time i met him actually...and that was like 11 years ago...but it was sure good to meet up and catch up...we actually met in a camp when we were in form 5...really missed the good old times back in the camp...
